The Bible. "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Two types of translations of the Bible are available that hold true to the original language. The word-for-word translations are a little more difficult to read, but lend themselves to a more accurate account of what was originally written. Three we would suggest are the ESV, NASB, NJKV. A phrase-by-phrase translation reads a little easier. The NIV and NEV fall into this category. Typically our pastoral team teaches from either the NASB or the ESV.
A Study Bible. To help you read and interpret the bible accurately, that includes trustworthy notes, maps, .outlines, charts, and a good concordance. A few we would recommend are: The MacArthur Study Bible, Nelson's Study Bible, The NIV Study Bible, and The Reformation Bible.
Online Study Bibles. The following links are helpful tools for "theologians" of all levels. Remember, literally theologian means one who studies God's Word - and as believers, that should include all of us!

Other Resources: If you haven't read the bible from cover to cover, that should be your first priority. Here's a chronological reading plan that would direct you through your bible in a year.
Once you have read through your bible, it might be helpful to consider the following series to compliment your daily bible reading. These lists are by no means exhaustive. However, they represent what the pastors and leaders of Hope Chapel would recommend to someone who asked the question, "I'm interested in deepening my understanding of the gospel, the Christian life, doctrine, etc. What would you recommend?"
We recognize that every believer is in a different place in their Christian journey. We would suggest that even if you have been a Christian for decades, that you consider beginning with Series 1, as it may serve as a reminder of what is most dear to our hearts, and what should be most dear to all believer's hearts - The Gospel of Jesus Christ. With that in mind, we pray you find our response helpful.

Recordings from Sovereign Grace Music. Here you can find audio recordings and downloadable chord charts of some of the music we use during our Sunday gatherings.
Hide The Word: Scripture Songs. six CD's recorded by Mark Altrogge. They're a contemporary pop-rock style and use both the NASB, NIV, and ESV translations. Great for helping kids of all ages (that includes our pastoral team) commit scripture to memory and etching it on our hearts.
