LEADERSHIP (click to learn more about our Leadership philosophy)
It is our desire to lead God’s Church as Biblically modeled in the scriptures consisting of a plurality of elders. Therefore, in 2007 we implemented a plurality of eldership here at Hope Chapel which we believe better fits this body of believers. Our desire for these changes is to create a model of relationship, accountability and gift-based leadership that continues to effectively lead, and care for the church family.

Couples are listed from left to right below (scroll down)
Scott & Sarah Dontanville
Scott and his wife Sarah have been married since 1984 and are blessed to be the parents of five great kids, Kyle, Cambria, Connor, Caiden, and Keaton. Both Scott and (mostly) Sarah have played a major role in their kids homeschool education. Scott received his Bachelors in Biblical studies from L.I.F.E. Bible college and has served as an associate pastor in two previous church plants. They moved to Colorado Springs 14 years ago to plant their third local church. In His sovereign mercy, and by His grace, the Lord has rekindled Scott’s passion and his own commitment to the authority of Scripture. As Scripture continues to dictate how our church is structured and functions, Scott "stepped down" as the Senior pastor in October of 2007 and continues to effectively serve the body of Hope Chapel as an elder/pastor amidst a plurality of elders.
Chuck & Marla Madalone
Chuck, his wife Marla, and their son Aaron started attending Hope Chapel in 1998 and fell in love with the Lord and His church. Through God's grace they developed some deep and long lasting relationships within their church family. It was this closeness that led to their decision to retire from the military and plant roots in Colorado Springs. Chuck has faithfully served Hope Chapel for eight years in various ministries. He currently leads the facilities team, teaches in children's ministry, serves as a care group leader and elder/pastor, providing oversight to a variety of ministries at Hope Chapel.
Kurt & Sheila Aichele
Kurt initially attended Hope Chapel in 1997, serving as a part of the worship team. In 2000, he moved back to his hometown of Chicago, and then in 2003, Kurt & Sheila were married, and he pursued an MDiv from Trinity Evangelical DIvinity School. In 2005, Kurt and Sheila became members at Sovereign Grace Church outside Chicago, IL, a part of Sovereign Grace Ministries. Here, under the direction of the pastoral staff, he completed a "field ed" that encompassed a variety of experiences. In 2006 the Aichele's were released to return to Colorado Springs to partner with Scott in helping "replant" Hope Chapel. By God's grace, they have been blessed with two little boys, Silas and Nathan. Kurt is currently C.O.O. of the U.S. Fencing Association (U.S. Olympic team) while serving as an elder/pastor with Hope Chapel. Kurt and Sheila's desire is to grow in the calling God has placed on their lives.
Garrett & Rachel Swasey
Garrett and Rachel began attending Hope Chapel in 2001. Initially drawn by its small size, they have grown to love the fellowship and teaching at Hope Chapel. As they raise their son, Elijah, they view the members of the church as their family. Both have been granted a servant’s heart by God, and are a demonstrative evidence of God’s grace to Hope Chapel. Rachel serves behind the scenes in the office, and loves watching the little ones in the nursery, while Garrett is often found running the sound system or teaching in Jr. High. Additionally, as an elder/pastor, Garrett provides oversight to various operational functions that accompany church life.
Bill & Lynn Gross
Bill and Lynn came to Hope Chapel in 2006. They were married in 1973 and have a grown son and daughter. They also have three lovely grandchildren. Bill met Scott in a coffee shop and was immediately attracted to Hope Chapel by Scott's passion to teach sound doctrine no matter what the cost. What they discovered was a warm, loving, and genuine fellowship of believers who want to grow in the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ. They also found the balance they'd been searching for between sound doctrine and joy-filled worship. Lynn helps in administration, and Bill occasionally shares the role of teaching elder with Scott and Kurt. He oversees the Hospitality ministries of Hope Chapel, which includes greeters and ushers.
